Gambling addicts tend to progress from losing all their money, then to losing all they can get from their family, and then from their friends, and finally to taking or stealing money from strangers.

Two-thirds of gambling addicts eventually turn to crime to finance their habits.

·         People who live within ten miles of a casino are twice as likely to be a problem gambler or pathological gambler as those who do not.

·         3% to 5% of all gamblers become problem or pathological gamblers. 

·         That 3% to 5% represents more and more humans beings every day, as the number of gamblers increases due to increased opportunity to gamble at nearby casinos.

·         Addicted gamblers have a direct impact on the lives of 12 other people on the average.

·         Gambling addicts account for between 35% and 50% of all casino revenues nationwide.
